We Are Here For You

Image
We will get through this together. I offer to you my almost 30 years of experience operating, funding, managing Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc. I think the most effective way to approach things is by “grouping” students by ages in order to facilitate tutoring. I am happy to offer my assistance to parents who are trying to homeschool their children. Additionally, I will offer private tutoring sessions via Skype or Zoom.   In this time of social distancing and stay at home orders, we can still maintain our children’s educational integrity.   What I need from parents is to tell me what area is causing the most stress. I can record lessons and broadcast them on YouTube, or I can do live broadcasts on YouTube. My sense is that I will most likely do both. I will do whatever is most helpful. All I ask is for you to contribute what you can to the Tutoring center via PayPal and $CashApp. No amount is too small. $CashApp: $Homoco   PayPal: paypal.me/hitech177  Credit card dona...

What the Heck is "Dancing for Dollars?"

Image
What is “Dancing for Dollars” you may ask? Well, rest assured it has NOTHING to do with stripper poles or any such thing. “Dancing for Dollars” is the effort of our new Executive Director, Holly Mosley Cooper, MBA, to bring in funds and bring awareness to Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc. Mrs. Cooper has been known to “cut a rug” and then trip over it.  Mrs. Holly Mosley Cooper, MBA But she is willing to make a spectacle of herself to help children who are in need but can’t afford to pay for the services. Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc. is a 501 (c ) (3) organization registered with the State of Florida as such. We were founded nearly 30 years ago by our former Executive Director, Ernestine Mosley. The mission of the tutoring center has always been the education of its enrolled students. They have striven to reach those students that may have been deemed “unreachable” by the system. The ones who were labeled as lacking in some necessary component to succeed in school. ...

The high cost of doing nothing… “Stepping Out” Phase II

Image
There is a lack of services for young adults on the Autism Spectrum once they “age out” of the system. Sadly, many of these young people become involved in the Juvenile Justice System because of a lack of guidance. It costs Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc (HTTC). $3,180 per year to educate and mentor a student in our program. Per the Vera Institute of Justice, in 2010, in 40 states, it costs an average of $31,286 annually to house a single inmate. In an effort to offer programs and services that are beneficial to the community, HTTC will offer “Stepping Out” Phase II. HTTC will assist young adults on the Autism Spectrum ages 15 - 25 with transitioning from high school into the work place. In other News… Sadly, our Founder and Executive Director Emeritus, Mrs. Ernestine Mosley has transitioned. She will be sorely missed by our family and the Central Florida community. May she rest eternally in peace. Godspeed sweet soul.  Mrs. Ernestine Mosley Mrs. Holly ...

The Story of Hi-Tech Tutoring Center

Image
Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc was founded on October 15, 1991 by Mrs. Ernestine Mosley. Mrs. Mosley was a Teacher, Guidance Counselor and Assistant Principal in the Orange County Public School System for over 30 years. While in the system, she noticed that many students were falling through the educational cracks because their parents were not able to get them the extra help they needed to help them pick up the concepts that they were missing. When she retired, rather than sitting in her rocking chair, she decided to open the tutoring center and make a difference in the community by offering the education basics - reading, writing, and math. Initially, we began helping athletes who had gotten offered entry into college but needed to raise their GPAs and test scores. Eventually, we expanded into after school programs and summer camps. At this point, we have evolved into S.T.E.M. Education Programs and GED Preparation along with Workforce Preparation. We look forwar...

It has been one month since I published my book

Image
I did not think I would be doing a "re branding" job so early in the game but here it goes anyway.  One month ago today I accomplished something I was beginning to think I never would; I published my first book.   It is an autobiography but not in the sense of being self-promoting and self-congratulatory.   Okay, maybe a little self-congratulatory but if you don’t pat yourself on the back, who will?   This book is so much more than that though.   It’s about overcoming obstacles, learning to be comfortable in your own skin and living up to your full potential. The fact that I recently discovered I might be mildly autistic or high functioning autistic is a big factor but it is not the total package.   I want people who are autistic to read it but I want people who have never really had any dealings with autism to read it too.   Yes, there are individuals among us that are severely autistic and probably “easier to spot.”   But there ar...

The Realization of a life-long dream

Image
This is dedicated to all the “haters;” the ones who branded me a “lazy slacker.”   You know who you are…   The most satisfying revenge is success!   I thank God and my supporters for the realization of a life-long dream – the publishing of my first book: “Life is a Precious Gift; details to follow about the book signing and celebration.   I hope all who care to will be able to join us for the party.   And now, I present a preview of my first book.   I certainly hope you enjoy the preview and that you buy the book too so that you will be ready for the book signing party!  http://www.amazon.com/dp/1484166590/ref=tsm_1_fb_lk “So what is it like to have a condition 30 plus years before anyone actually understands what Asperger’s Syndrome means?”   That and other questions are answered in this book.   Originally, this book was written with the idea of it just being an autobiography.   At some point it stopped being so sel...
