Whose the Most Patriotic Candidate?
As we prepare to celebrate the birthday of our nation, let us discuss the topic of patriotism. What does it mean to be patriotic? Does it mean we have to wear an American flag lapel pin? Does it mean we have to wear the pride we feel in our country on our sleeve? I keep hearing a lot on the news about how Senator Obama just doesn ’t have the military experience to be Commander-in-Chief. We all honor Senator McCain’s service to our country but does that automatically make him the most qualified? The president has all kinds of advisers to help him; he does not have to be retired military. Now it seems as though this is the newest tool to use against Senator Obama . After all, no one actually wants to say that they don’t want to vote for Senator Obama just because he is black.
