We're Opening Back Up Soon in a New Location

Image
Our mission is to help young adults /children on the autism spectrum and their families live more productive, successful lives. Our approach involves intensive work with neuro diverse, at-risk youth and their families with a focus on conscious-parenting, individual outcomes, keeping young people in the community whenever safely possible. We are committed to providing accountability to families and supporters while producing lasting success for young adults/children with success rates twice that of traditional services at one-third the cost of traditional care.                                                          Our old location, pre-pandemic The Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc. (HTTC) was founded on October 15, 1991, by Mrs. Ernestine Mosley. Mrs. Mosley was a Teacher, Guidance Counselor and Assistant Principal in the Orange County P...

I Have Been Thinking and Brainstorming

Image
Holly Mosley Cooper, MBA  Executive Director - HTTC, Inc. So… yeah… I have been doing some thinking and brainstorming. When Covid-19 exploded earlier this year, it turned everyone’s world upside down. We closed our brick-and-mortar facility.  It wasn’t practical or cost effective to keep it open. I went the virtual route by partnering with a larger tutoring company. Let’s just say, I am not a fan of virtual learning. It makes connecting with students very difficult. Compound that with the fact that said student may or may not be on the Autism Spectrum. Our commitment for the future is to make sure that every child in underserved communities gets a diagnosis if they need one and then gets the therapies and proper intervention that they need. We must find a work around. We must play with the hand that life has dealt us. It appears that younger children seem to be less virulent carriers of the virus. We cannot be sure but perhaps in the upcoming year, with the vaccines a...

Hi-Tech's Virtual School's Out Summer Camp 2020

Image
Do you have a child or young person in your care who’s on the Spectrum? How are they handling the shutdown? Two important things to remember:  Establish a regular routine and  maintain that routine to mimic normalcy  Hi-Tech is here to help. Reach out to us. Because while we all know this situation that we are in isn’t normal, we can do things to help our special ones deal with the disruption in all of our lives. For our part, my boy has started a rigorous fitness routine and changed his eating and sleeping habits to cope. However, he’s still having issues maintaining his academic subjects. That’s the main reason we left FL Virtual School years ago. We are also battling chronic boredom... But folks, we have a solution for all of our parents. While it will be geared more towards K through 3rd grade, all are welcome. We offer interactive  S.T.E.A.M.  games and even basic art taught by my very talented son.  INTRODUCING: School's Out Summer C...

We Are Here For You

Image
We will get through this together. I offer to you my almost 30 years of experience operating, funding, managing Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc. I think the most effective way to approach things is by “grouping” students by ages in order to facilitate tutoring. I am happy to offer my assistance to parents who are trying to homeschool their children. Additionally, I will offer private tutoring sessions via Skype or Zoom.   In this time of social distancing and stay at home orders, we can still maintain our children’s educational integrity.   What I need from parents is to tell me what area is causing the most stress. I can record lessons and broadcast them on YouTube, or I can do live broadcasts on YouTube. My sense is that I will most likely do both. I will do whatever is most helpful. All I ask is for you to contribute what you can to the Tutoring center via PayPal and $CashApp. No amount is too small. $CashApp: $Homoco   PayPal: paypal.me/hitech177  Credit card dona...

What the Heck is "Dancing for Dollars?"

Image
What is “Dancing for Dollars” you may ask? Well, rest assured it has NOTHING to do with stripper poles or any such thing. “Dancing for Dollars” is the effort of our new Executive Director, Holly Mosley Cooper, MBA, to bring in funds and bring awareness to Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc. Mrs. Cooper has been known to “cut a rug” and then trip over it.  Mrs. Holly Mosley Cooper, MBA But she is willing to make a spectacle of herself to help children who are in need but can’t afford to pay for the services. Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc. is a 501 (c ) (3) organization registered with the State of Florida as such. We were founded nearly 30 years ago by our former Executive Director, Ernestine Mosley. The mission of the tutoring center has always been the education of its enrolled students. They have striven to reach those students that may have been deemed “unreachable” by the system. The ones who were labeled as lacking in some necessary component to succeed in school. ...

It has been one month since I published my book

Image
I did not think I would be doing a "re branding" job so early in the game but here it goes anyway.  One month ago today I accomplished something I was beginning to think I never would; I published my first book.   It is an autobiography but not in the sense of being self-promoting and self-congratulatory.   Okay, maybe a little self-congratulatory but if you don’t pat yourself on the back, who will?   This book is so much more than that though.   It’s about overcoming obstacles, learning to be comfortable in your own skin and living up to your full potential. The fact that I recently discovered I might be mildly autistic or high functioning autistic is a big factor but it is not the total package.   I want people who are autistic to read it but I want people who have never really had any dealings with autism to read it too.   Yes, there are individuals among us that are severely autistic and probably “easier to spot.”   But there ar...

Mom…I want to help poor kids who don’t have enough money…

Image
So I was talking with my wonderful, generous, intelligent son a few months ago and he proclaims to me, “Mom, I want to help poor children who don’t have enough money…”   Of course I was thrilled to hear this!   My son is an excellent artist so in the midst of figuring out how we can raise this money, he says again, “I can sell my pictures and donate some of the money.”   Now how do you tell this very enthusiastic child that people may not want to buy his pictures….?   But earlier this morning, while I was not sleeping, I came up with the idea of how we could do this…   We are going to sell t-shirts!   Not just ordinary t-shirts though!   These will be shirts with original artwork by one Willie James Cooper, III.   They are intellectual property and will be appropriately copyrighted so that they cannot be stolen! We will donate 25% to multiple organizations that assist children and families who are on the autism spectrum. We will donate 25% to...
