What the Heck is "Dancing for Dollars?"
What is “Dancing for Dollars” you may ask? Well, rest
assured it has NOTHING to do with stripper poles or any such thing. “Dancing
for Dollars” is the effort of our new Executive Director, Holly Mosley Cooper,
MBA, to bring in funds and bring awareness to Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc.
Mrs. Cooper has been known to “cut a rug” and then trip over it.

But she is
willing to make a spectacle of herself to help children who are in need but can’t
afford to pay for the services. Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc. is a 501 (c ) (3)
organization registered with the State of Florida as such.
We were founded nearly 30 years ago by our former
Executive Director, Ernestine Mosley. The mission of the tutoring center has
always been the education of its enrolled students. They have striven to reach
those students that may have been deemed “unreachable” by the system. The ones
who were labeled as lacking in some necessary component to succeed in school.
Mrs. Mosley never bought into that. She believed that EVERY student had the
ability to learn if taught in their learning style. Too many educators have
taken the “cookie cutter” approach out of necessity because they are being
overwhelmed by guidelines and mountains of rules and paperwork. Hi-Tech
Tutoring Center, Inc. is an ally in the effort to educate our youth, not an
adversary.

The tutoring center has gone through evolution in the
past few years. Now our newest program is intended to support and guide young
people ages 15 – 25 who are on the Autism Spectrum of disorders. There was a
recent article shared on the tutoring center’s Facebook page about how students
of color with disabilities are being directed towards the school to prison
pipeline. This is wrong on so many levels and Hi-Tech intends to do everything
it possibly can to prevent this from happening. This brings us full circle back
to the fundraiser next week. No amount is too small. If you have $CashApp, you
can donate a few bucks if you like. The price of a cheap cup of coffee. You can
also follow the link on the event page and donate $500 if the spirit moves you.
We will greatly appreciate either one.
