Thoughts I'd Like To Share...

There is a lack of services for young adults on the Autism Spectrum once they “age out” of the system. Sadly, many of these young people become involved in the Juvenile Justice System because of a lack of guidance. It costs Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc (HTTC). $3,180 per year to educate and mentor a student in our program. Per the Vera Institute of Justice, in 2010, in 40 states, it costs an average of $31,286 annually to house a single inmate. In an effort to offer programs and services that are beneficial to the community, HTTC will offer “Stepping Out” Phase II. HTTC will assist young adults on the Autism Spectrum ages 15 - 25 with transitioning from high school into the work place. Hi-Tech Tutoring Center, Inc was founded on October 15, 1991 by Mrs. Ernestine Mosley. Mrs. Mosley was a Teacher, Guidance Counselor and Assistant Principal in the Orange County Public School System for over 30 years. While in the system, she noticed that many students were falling through the educational cracks because their parents were not able to get them the extra help they needed to help them pick up the concepts that they were missing. When she retired, rather than sitting in her rocking chair, she decided to open the tutoring center and make a difference in the community by offering the education basics - reading, writing, and math. Initially, we began helping athletes who had gotten offered entry into college but needed to raise their GPAs and test scores. Eventually, we expanded into after school programs and summer camps.
